Xi'an Famous Foods
I FINALLY WENT TO NEW YORK! It was so so fun and yummy. I tried a looooot of amazing vegan places.. but the one spot that stood out to me the most was this tiny, delicious spot, Xi'an Famous Foods.
My friend that had lived in NY for over 8 years kept telling me I had to eat here to try their "tingly" sauce. "It's something completely different than you've ever tried before! It's amazing! Anthony Bourdain even came here."
Ok.. I'm sold. Bourdain knows wassap.
This cold noodle dish was the most authentic Chinese cuisine I've ever had. It was also the most amazing noodle dish my lips have ever touched. I actually even went back two more times after this.
By the way, this super delish and filling dish was ONLY 6 DOLLARS. Talk about living on a budget. Actually.. I'd say this is thriving on a budget. Thriving, for sure.
This spot, approved by Anthony Bourdain himself, is growing more and more with a couple locations around NY. I can see why. My favorite location was in East Village though, because it is surrounded by a really awesome cultural vibe, and tons (I mean TONS) of different cool restaurants, dessert spots, bubble tea, cafes, cool little shops, and unique bars. I could literally walk from brunch, to cafe, to matcha bar, to restaurant, to more food and yeah you get the point...
So hopefully, despite my lack of diversity in word selection, you have captured how amazing this Western Chinese Cuisine joint is. Make sure to add it to your list of things to do in New York!
